Getting started with FeedLab

From first upload to exported PDF in under ten minutes.

Download sample data sheet

Not sure where to start? Download one of our sample data sheets from the Resources page and try the tool with example data before uploading your own.

Step 01

Download an assessment template

Start with one of our pre-built Excel templates for AQA Trilogy, Separate Science, or a custom layout. Each template is designed to work immediately — just fill in your student names and scores.

Step 02

Upload your completed data sheet

Open the Assessment Feedback Generator and upload your Excel file. FeedLab will automatically detect your students, class groups, and question-level scores. Supports most spreadsheet layouts.

Step 03

Enter your feedback statements

For each question, write one or more "What Went Well" (WWW) and "Even Better If" (EBI) statements. FeedLab selects the most relevant one for each student based on their score. You can also use the AI Feedback Assistant to generate these automatically.

Step 04

Export your class reports

Click Export to generate a print-ready PDF covering your whole class. Each student gets a personalised A4 report showing their scores, WWW and EBI comments, and a class overview page.

Common questions

What file formats does FeedLab accept?

FeedLab accepts .xlsx, .xls, and .xlsm files. The tool automatically detects most common data sheet layouts. See our File Formats page for details.

Does FeedLab store student data?

No. All processing happens locally in your browser. Student names and scores are never transmitted to or stored on FeedLab servers.

Can I use my own spreadsheet layout?

Yes. While our templates are the easiest way to get started, FeedLab can detect most standard layouts. Student names should be in the first column, with question scores in subsequent columns.

How many students can I process at once?

There is no hard limit. FeedLab has been tested with class sizes up to 200 students in a single file.
